EMDR Therapy

EMDR

Emotional Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy

What does EMDR involve?

It involves using side-to-side eye movements, with the therapist guiding you through different intervals during the session. At the beginning of the session, we will examine your history, past experiences, and current situation.

What can EMDR help with?

EMDR can be very beneficial for trauma, grief, addiction, substance abuse, eating disorders, depression, OCD, phobias, addictions, abuse (verbal, physical, and sexual), grief and loss, and self-esteem issues. It is most famous for its effectiveness in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

EMDR can help you overcome past emotional traumas and focus on the present, being able to see things in a more positive way to alleviate and reduce the stress that you have suffered. Compared to many other therapies, it can bring positive results more quickly.

Will I be in control?

During the session, you remain fully conscious and in control. No trance state is induced, and no suggestions are given.

How many sessions do I need?

One session of EMDR can often be sufficient. However, more complex anxiety-related issues may require a few more sessions. EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy may not be effective for individuals with mental health conditions caused by inherited conditions, injuries, or other physical effects on the brain.

What is the price?

One session is £100 for 60 mins.
